Dr Rosana Pacella
Rosana joined the University of Chichester, UK as Head of Research in 2018 to lead in developing and implementing the University’s Research policy, maximize research impact and raise the quality and visibility of the University’s research, including development activity towards current and future Research Excellence Framework (REF) submissions.
Previously, she was a Senior Research Fellow at AusHSI and still holds a visiting fellow appointment with the university. While at QUT, she established and led a health services research team conducting economic evaluations of evidence-based wound management innovations.
Rosana is also widely recognised for her leading role in burden of disease assessments in several developing countries carried out over the last 17 years, including Malaysia, Vietnam and South Africa. She continues to serve as an expert advisor to the Global Burden of Disease Collaboration and Australian National Burden of Disease Study.
Rosana obtained her PhD from the University of the Witwatersrand in Johannesburg, and has previously supervised a total of eight Masters students and one PhD student to completion. She has published widely in leading international journals, including The Lancet and PloS ONE.
