Alison Kitson
QUT Adjunct Professor
Alison Kitson is a recognised international knowledge translation scientist and nursing leader. She has had a long association with the Australian Centre for Health Services Innovation, dating back to 2015 when both she and Professor Gill Harvey helped establish the Centre’s implementation science research program. Having recently moved away from her executive leadership roles at Flinders, Alison is now focused on supporting early and mid-career researchers to develop their skills in knowledge translation and implementation science.
Alison has received numerous awards and recognitions for her work, including Fellow of the Australian Academy of Health and Medical Research 2015, Honorary Doctorate Aalborg University Denmark 2023 and Sigma Theta Tau International Researcher Hall of Fame Researcher 2025. She was recently identified in the top 2% of world-wide researchers in her field (Stanford University), and is soon to publish a new book on executing knowledge translation within an applied research institute.
