Kate Young
Research Fellow

Kate is a mixed-methods researcher, using implementation science to foster effective and sustainable innovation in health services and communities in Australia. Her background in psychology and public health informs her unique and creative approach to this research. From in-depth interviews and Photovoice to population-based surveys and randomised-controlled trials, she has a wide range of skills and experience in both quantitative and qualitative research methodologies. Kate is also an experienced science communicator who has been interviewed about her research across a range of media including ABC Radio National and The Drum, and has been a freelance writer including for The Guardian and SBS Online.

At AusHSI, Kate’s current research includes projects that increase the value of care in Australian hospital and healthcare systems, and working with consumers to co-design support services and tools for a range of health conditions. Kate is passionate about working with and for communities to support health and social equity in Queensland and beyond.
