Latest e-scooter injury data released by Queensland’s peak injury research body, Jamieson Trauma institute (JTI), shows presentations to hospital emergency departments continue to escalate, with private e-scooter riders now compromising two-thirds of hospital presentations. The research findings will play a critical role in JTI’s submission to the State Parliamentary inquiry into e-mobility safety and use.

A/Prof Zephanie Tyack has been awarded $992,441 from the MRFF Survivorship Care and Collaborative Research Prioritisation Grant program for the project, ‘Ember to Empower’: developing and piloting a one-stop burn recovery toolkit for burn survivors. A consumer advisory group of burn survivors will advise on all aspects of the study.
