Angela Melder
Research Fellow – Implementation Science
Dr Angela Melder’s diverse experience in healthcare improvement enables her to provide implementation science leadership to research and public health teams. She has informed the design, delivery and evaluation of implementation of change to improve frontline practice, and organisation and system level healthcare. Previously, Angela managed an evidence intermediary evidence unit, which facilitated evidence-informed decision making for diverse operations and activities in a large complex health service in Victoria. Angela has led projects with university departments and diverse local communities at a national and international level to develop innovative implementation strategies incorporating diverse stakeholder input, evidence and theory informed approaches.
Angela’s role at AusHSI centres on implementation research for the Ember to Empower project. This project will co-create a novel recovery toolkit in collaboration with burn survivors and their families and healthcare professionals to provide guidance with navigating access to support, resources and follow-up care. Angela’s passion is to ensure that equity is embedded in all aspects of implementation work, and that implementation science research is informed by lived experience that addresses the complexity of frontline healthcare delivery.
